I like diapers, too. Baylee has used the potty twice to tee-tee (she asked both times to go), but I am not forcing it AT ALL. I'm also not even trying it with Brayden yet. Once he was ready (a combination of him wanting to be a big boy, being able to communicate his need and a suitable adapted potty) he did the whole thing in 8 weeks flat (number ones, number two's and nights, with just a few albeit spectacular accidents you don't want to know about). Just wait until you and the girls are ready for it, it's a big big job. Don't fret over it too much - provided there are no physical issues, they will be toilet trained by the time they are 15! Enjoy the relative simplicity of nappies while you can.

Heike from Sydney, Australia - and by the way, our 16 month old daughter (also CP) is called the most beautiful girls name in the world: Billie off course (as you probably know, an old English name meaning "strong willed")Heike Fabighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06856001856348587649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7915600.post-21150402570799293922007-09-08T21:27:00.000-04:002007-09-08T21:27:00.000-04:00I can't want them to be big girls!I can't want them to be big girls!Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05150991156716431457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7915600.post-34879839281143443102007-09-08T12:04:00.000-04:002007-09-08T12:04:00.000-04:00Hi Billie,Julia was fairly easy to train but our b...Hi Billie,

Julia was fairly easy to train but our big, big mistake was training her on the toddler potty. We had been discouraged from trying until we knew if he had the ability to "hold it" so we were not pushing him even when we knew that he could. I finally got tired of diapers two months short of 4, yes 4 years old, told him we were potty training, went straight to underpants, and spent the next two months hanging out in the bathroom. Kiera was 10 months so I had to get creative because Ben wasn't stable enough to be hands off initially. I had to listen to some crying, clean up a lot of accidents and play in the bathroom for hours with both kids. We did sticker charts like crazy because he loved the letter stickers we had. Then one day the accidents didn't happen as much and he got it. Bad news is that I still take him to the potty several times a day. Low tone makes quick changes hard. Good news is that now Kiera want's to use "brother's potty". I'm counting on one to train the other. You might too:)
ShannonShannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03782895993683857172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7915600.post-25172393252605390382007-09-07T17:37:00.000-04:002007-09-07T17:37:00.000-04:00That "big, big diapers" comment is cracking me up!...That "big, big diapers" comment is cracking me up!Billiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10589229199716201638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7915600.post-52129883617411792862007-09-07T13:17:00.000-04:002007-09-07T13:17:00.000-04:00Speaking from the point of view of having trained ...Speaking from the point of view of having trained twins..follow their lead. I put it on hold at our house as I felt like I never left the bathroom and that is only with one little wonder child. Do look into a proper potty for Eden it will be much easier if you don't have to be helping her when she is on the potty, it will free up your hand to chase Holland. If you are still wanting to stay in diapers have Holland wear her training pants under so she still gets the yucky feeling if she pees but you have the back-up of diapers.
Good luck.BusyLizzyMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09116803603107554804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7915600.post-18571622336930011012007-09-06T21:42:00.000-04:002007-09-06T21:42:00.000-04:00We use a rifton potty chair, its eassy to use and ...We use a rifton potty chair, its eassy to use and grows with the child.

http://www.rifton.com/products/hygiene/toiletingsystems/index.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7915600.post-56541046715958743432007-09-06T21:23:00.000-04:002007-09-06T21:23:00.000-04:00Another thought...we have had some success with le...Another thought...we have had some success with letting our daughter run around with no diaper on. You could try this...it cuts down on time to remove a diaper if they actually tell you they have to go and I think it helps remind them to try.

Also, if you get a trainer potty for Holland and then use the CP potty (that jenny suggested)for Eden you could have them both on the potty at the same time.

Oh, and to minimize water disasters in the bathroom we have gone to the hand sanitizer. It works well, but you have to keep it out of their reach b/c it is dangerous if they were to ingest it.

Just some thoughts - I'm in the potty training stage too.
